Skills Boost Tutoring
The Literacy Society of the North Okanagan provides tutoring services by qualified teachers and literacy tutors for children and youth. These students may have gaps in their learning or may be working below their grade level. Services are by referral. There is no charge to eligible students.
If you would like to hire a tutor, we have a limited ability to provide fee-for-service tutoring. Please fill out the request form below and return to us and we will see if we have a tutor to meet your needs!

After School Reading Program
The Literacy Society of the North Okanagan provides an After-School Reading Program at five Vernon elementary schools:
The program is designed for Grade 2 and 3 students who are reading below grade level and runs from October until March. These students are referred to the program by School District 22 teaching staff.
If you are interested in being part of this program as a paid certified teacher or a volunteer please contact the coordinator for more information.

We provide charitable tax receipts and appreciate donations in any amount.
We accept e-transfers!
You can access Interac e-Transfer through your bank’s website. Set the Literacy Society of the North Okanagan up as a recipient, and use the email address; firstname.lastname@example.org. Call us or email the security question and answer to the same address. This way, the Literacy Society receives the full amount of the donation, and a donation receipt for the full amount will be emailed to you. If you require assistance, please contact us!
Support the Reading Together Program
Your donation helps us purchase engaging, new books the children will read to their volunteer tutors. All donors receive a charitable tax receipt and our thanks!
