Skills Boost Project-Based Learning
A little extra support can go a long way.
Skills Boost is a small-group learning program that helps children grow their literacy and confidence through curiosity-driven, hands-on activities. Students explore topics they love while developing reading, writing, speaking, and numeracy skills in a fun and engaging way. The program focuses on inquiry-based learning, so children build skills naturally as they create, investigate, and collaborate.
What Skills Boost Looks Like This Year
This year, we are running four Skills Boost group locations with small groups of learners supported by trained facilitators and volunteers. Each group offers a space where children can:
- Explore topics that capture their interests
- Build confidence working with peers
- Strengthen literacy and numeracy skills through meaningful projects
Our goal is to help every child feel excited about learning and confident in their abilities.
Growing with Community Partners
We are actively seeking new partnerships with schools, community organizations, and after-school programs so we can open additional Skills Boost groups in more neighbourhoods. If your school or community group is interested in hosting a Skills Boost program, we would love to connect and explore how we can work together to support children’s learning.
